We will look at world issues and practices through New Testament eyes. JESUSPEACE will be a place where all can openly discuss their beliefs, questions and concerns without judgment or condemnation. JESUSPEACE POSITION: . War will continue until Jesus comes. (Matthew 24:7) . War does not bring peace. · Antiwar movements will not bring peace either. · Jesus did not come to bring peace to the world. (Matthew 10:34) · God gives authority to nations to execute His vengeance and punish evil men. (Romans 13:4) · We are to submit to the authority of government (Romans 13:1, 1 Peter 2:13,14) · We are to pray for the leaders of our government. (1 Timothy 2:2) · We are not to avenge ourselves. We are to overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:17-21) · We are to pray for, forgive, love and bless our enemies whether in their individual personal lives or globally Including nations and terrorists who threaten us or attack us. (Matthew 5:44, 6:15) · Our position will be not to judge or condemn anyone. Only God is to judge (Romans Chapters 1&2). · Jesus said "Not as the world gives peace, give I unto you" (John 14:27). Jesus did not demonstrate against war, did not lobby against the Roman Government, did not resist evil men, and said nothing in his defense.
